Thanksgiving 2010

While I was slaving away at work on the holiday, Adam and Sophie joined my parents and Wendy, Jason, and Josie for a glorious Thanksgiving feast...but I'm not bitter. I attempted to eat the "free holiday meal" at work. For those of you who know me well, I hate cafeteria food. I have been known to ask for my money back at the Golden Corral. I despise buckets of food that is unidentified and looks to be full of "fillers". About all I can say about the free meal is...at least it was free. Here are some pictures of all the fun I missed!

Good Lord now Josie is 3

Technically Josie's birthday fell on Thanksgiving this year. Since I had to work and Wendy didn't want her to have to share her birthday with the Pilgrims, we celebrated a day early with a Minnie Mouse party! My cakes didn't look that great because my cleaning ladies showed up much to early and I was rushed! But they tasted good!

Magical Mini Carts

When Sophie was a baby I didn't mind taking her to the store with me at all. She was so good! Then...she turned 2 and taking her to the grocery store became a nightmare. She would not sit in the cart, she would not stay anywhere near me if she was let loose. I spent most of the time chasing her down. I dreaded going to the store with her. THEN...we discovered the mini grocery carts at a nearby Kroger.

Our neighborhood Publix does not have these magical mini carts so we did not realize that the solution to our problem was so simple. Adam stole a cart from a little girl leaving the store and gave it to Sophie. She was thrilled. She immediately started pushing it and ran directly into a display, once we realized her limitations our problems were solved. I now do not even attempt to take her into the store without her cart. She MUST have something in it while we are shopping and when we are walking out to the car. She is particularly interested in cooking oil and Lucky Charms. She uses the baby seat to hold her free cookie which she snacks on throughout the store. Now shopping is just plain amusing...it's the cutest thing!

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse

We took the girls to see Mickey Mouse Clubhouse with the Hamiltons. Sophie had never seen Mickey Mouse before but wow did she love the show. I think she danced at least 90% of the time!

Chocolate Shake

Adam and I were planning on sharing a chocolate shake. What were we thinking? Sophie drank over 1/2 of mine. Adam ended up getting another one for FREE. I think I'm the only loser in this scenario, but at least I got a cute picture out of the deal!
