Josie's 2nd Birthday

You have GOT to be kidding me...Josie is TWO??? 

Okay, as usual, there is a back story. A friend of mine at work told me this story about her nephew and Adam and I now say this all the time. Alan was about 3 and was shopping with his mom at the Disney store. He picked up a stuffed animal and said he wanted it. His mom asked him how much it was and looked at the tag. There was not a price on it and she said "well, it must be free." Alan...dead serious...said "you have GOT to be kidding me, it's fwee?" I think Alan is now in college. But his hilarity lives on in the Huskins' household.

Anyway, we celebrated Josie's 2nd birthday during a trip to Knoxville.

Josie got a thing that has a camera and music and you can see yourself on TV...she calls it "Josie TV".  A HUGE hit.

Sophie is TWO

Sophie turned TWO on July 9th.no kidding. I can barely believe it! She had 3 parties this year. One at my parent’s house on July 4th, one the day before her birthday with Blake, Michelle, David, Jason, & Harrison. And one the weekend after her birthday with her Franklin friends. We did a Sesame Street theme and had so much fun! Here are the pictures to prove it! Keep in mind that she REALLY hates hats.

 
 

July 4th, 2009 Sophie's 2nd Birthday

We celebrated Sophie's 2nd birthday during our annual 4th of July trip to Knoxville. The Poteets and Grand-mommy and Poppy Huskins all helped to make it a special day!

She, however, did NOT inherit her Aunt Katie’s or Cousin Sophie’s love of sweets! Probably a good thing, I’m not sure she ingested much of the cake at all…terribly unimpressive!

My Final Cake

I finished course II of my cake decorating classes! Here is my final cake…it is in honor of Sophie’s first year! She had her 1 year appointment with her pediatrician. She was 21 lb 8 oz. Her Huskins head was still in the 93rd percentile. It is going to be so interesting raising a genius!

Cake Decorating

As Sophie tries out her tutu, I’m taking cake decorating classes. I am having so much fun!!! I firmly believe that everyone should have a homemade birthday cake…but I need to learn how to make fancy ones! Here is my first attempt, I’d show you my 2nd attempt but it went ugly…very ugly.
