Christmas 2011

2011 Christmas was pretty special. We had an early Christmas in Franklin with the Huskins because Adam was supposed to be out of town. However, he ended up being with us on Christmas and we were together in Knoxville as well! What a nice surprise.

My dearest Sophia-

Thank you so much for the milk and wonderful cookies, your mom is a great baker! Did you help her with those? They tasted soooo good after a long flight. The reindeer loved their carrot and the popcorn was great too! Thank you for remembering them. I know your daddy has to be away for Christmas this year, so I brought you your presents a little bit early so he can be with you on your “Christmas morning”. I know that you have been a very good girl this year, so I have some extra special gifts the elves made just for you. I hope you like them. Be a good girl this year! Merry Christmas Sophia!

Sophie had her 4 year old pictures taken at the Factory in Franklin. Laurel Pankratz of http://www.eilas.com/ took the pictures. She is amazing. Sophie had so much fun. She could have posed all day long! Toddlers and Tiaras...here we come! Forgive me while I bombard you with my "favorites"...okay, almost all of them...

Renaissance Festival

Adam really wanted to take Sophie to the Renaissance Festival in Arrington, TN. I'm always game for good stories so I agreed to go. Sophie loves Rapunzel so Adam had her convinced we would see Rapunzel at the Festival. Well, we didn't exactly see Rapunzel, but we sure did see some freak flags flying high and proud. WOW. Kudos to the dedicated people who dressed in full costume when it was about 100 degrees outside. My favorite part was listening to a man and woman argue in the parking lot about how his sword should be worn. It was definitely worth it...for the story! And Sophie got to ride on her first school bus...which she was pretty excited about!

Easter 2011

We spent Easter in Kingsport again this year. Sophie had a ball. We colored eggs, had an Easter Egg hunt, and ate LOTS of candy. Grand-mommy and Poppy had a basket full of eggs on the dining room table, at one point I caught Sophie helping herself to the tootsie rolls inside!

It reminds my of my Grandma Pegg's house. She always had peanut M&Ms in a candy dish and it made a very obvious noise whenever you tried to get some out. My sister and I were constantly getting busted!
