My Final Cake

I finished course II of my cake decorating classes! Here is my final cake…it is in honor of Sophie’s first year! She had her 1 year appointment with her pediatrician. She was 21 lb 8 oz. Her Huskins head was still in the 93rd percentile. It is going to be so interesting raising a genius!

  

 

Bathtime Fun

How many pictures of Sophie sharing her bathtub can I put up before someone yanks this website off the internet? Oh well, we got to watch my niece the other day. She and Sophie really get a kick out of each other. They both got baths and baby massages! After about 15 tries I finally got a picture with both of them looking at me. And check out Sophie’s mohawk…pretty awesome. I tried to give one to Josie too, but it wasn’t very impressive!

Sophie can now walk behind her toys and she can walk very well when you hold her hands, she just isn’t quite ready to go solo!

 

Cake Eaters Anonymous

he first set of pictures is a picture of Sophie eating her first birthday cake at her 1st first birthday party and a picture of Michael Shaw eating his cake at his first birthday party. Michael is Colleen Reilly’s little boy who is 3 weeks older than Sophie. For those of you who don’t know, Michael, his 2 1/2 year old sister Lucy, and Sophie share our nanny, Miss Sarah.

Anyway, the comparison is hilarious! Michael is the BEST cake eater I’ve ever seen and though Sophie held her own, I think he put her to shame…he picked up the ENTIRE cake and shoved it in his face. It was up his nose, in his ear, etc. These two pictures just make me smile.

The second set of pictures is Sophie’s 2nd attempt at eating her 1st birthday cake (confused yet?) and Michael showing her up AT her OWN party! Adam said he was making dirt (out of his chocolate cake). Oh well Sophie, there’s always next year. But you CANNOT look at these pictures and not laugh, I need to put them up at work!

 

Sophie's Retro Rocket

Sophie got a Retro Rocket from “Aunt” Michelle and “Uncle” Blake. I cannot tell you how many times I have almost gotten this for her. It has a bunch of buttons that light up and make noise…which we all know she LOVES! However, when she is done…she’s done and just throws herself off it!

Just like her mommy...only much cuter!

Sophie's 2nd First Birthday Party

At Sophie’s 1st First Birthday Party she had her first hot dog, at her 2nd First Birthday Party she had her first piece of Jet’s Pizza. I mean really, does life get any better than hot dogs, pizza, and birthday cake? The cakes didn’t turn out quite as well at this party, but I’m still learning!

 

Sophie's New Car

Sophie got a new pink car from “Aunt” Jan and “Aunt” Julie. She LOVES the horn, it sounds just like the ice cream truck. She can’t quite move the car yet, but she sure can honk the horn!

Sophie's First Birthday

Sophie had her 1st of two birthday parties at my parents house in Knoxville. We had a full house with Adam’s family, my family, and our friends Julie and Darrell and their two boys. Sophie REALLY enjoyed her cake! Her next party is here in Franklin on the big day! Uncle Steve came through with his camera and captured some wonderful pictures of (almost) 1 year old Sophie.

  

Sophie's 1st Boat Ride

Sophie got to ride on the boat for the first time over her birthday weekend. She LOVED it…but wasn’t a huge fan of the sunglasses so we lost those pretty quickly.

Happy 4th of July!
